Tillotts LOGIC IBD STARS 2025 Highlights
Thank you to everyone who attended Tillotts LOGIC IBD STARS 2025!
The 8th Tillotts LOGIC IBD Nurse Education and Recognition Event, IBD STARS, was held in London on 28 November 2025 and attended by 102 IBD nurses from across the UK and Ireland. The event included an Education Day, developed and facilitated by IBD experts, and a Recognition Evening to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of IBD nurses in improving patient care.
IBD Nurse Education Day
The agenda was developed by a steering committee of IBD nurses and highlights included workshops on Interpreting bloods results in IBD (Dr James Alexander, Consultant Gastroenterologist, St Mark’s Hospital in London); Hepatology in IBD (Dr Mhairi Donnelly, Consultant Hepatologist, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh); and Research in IBD (Rachel Campbell, IBD Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Stepping Hill Hospital and Pearl Avery, Consultant Nurse Practitioner, Wyke and Lanehouse Medical Practice in Weymouth) as well as talks on:
• How it all began, the early days of IBD nursing with Sheila Phillips, one of the UK’s first IBD nurse specialists.
• Feedback and benchmarking with Lisa Younge, IBD Nurse Consultant, St Mark’s Hospital.
• Current IBD therapies in practice with Jon Kwok, Lead Pharmacist in Gastroenterology and Rheumatology, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
• Supporting young people through healthcare transitions with Dr Faye Tucker, Lecturer in Professional Practice, Values and Ethics, Lancaster University.
Richard Driscoll Award
Congratulations to Hazel Morris, for receiving the Richard Driscoll Award for the ‘Digital Transformation of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Advice Line’ project.

Rising Star Award
